[0004] FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The present invention is framed within the technical field corresponding to therapeutic stretchers. More specifically, the invention relates to a multi-articulated stretcher that is ergonomically configured to treat a patient both in decubitus and sitting positions.
[0008] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0010] In the therapeutic treatment of patients, such as massages or physiotherapy, depending on the area of the patient's body to be treated, said patient must adopt different postures. Generally, the most common positions for the therapeutic treatment of patients are: prone position, supine position, lateral position and sitting. These postures can be uncomfortable for both the patient and the therapist, even leading to injury. For this reason, it is important that the table can adapt to the physical characteristics of the patient, such as height, dimensions of each area of the patient's body, height of the therapist, etc.
[0012] Thus, the stretchers known to the applicant do not allow the patient to ergonomically adopt both decubitus and sitting positions. This is the case, for example, of the European patent application EP 1693038 A1 where a table for massages and for therapeutic use suitable for decubitus positions is disclosed. This stretcher allows individualized movement of each limb, both arms and legs, of the patient. Additionally, the stretcher disclosed in said application allows modifying the inclination of the headrest.
[0014] On the other hand, US patent US 6874182 B2 discloses an operating table with an articulated element advantageously used to support the lumbar region. Said articulated support element of the lumbar region is located between a central plate that supports the hip and an upper plate that supports the thoracic region of the patient.
[0015] French patent application FR 2581865 A1 discloses a table prepared to receive a patient who is to undergo medical or paramedical treatment. Said table is made up of a section designed to receive the patient's torso, a section to support the legs and a head. Said patent application is characterized in that the head is articulated, its inclination being able to vary with respect to the rest of the table but not its height, and because said head can move in a direction of the plane formed by the head itself by means of guides. On the other hand, the leg support section can move relative to the other sections along the length of the stretcher. Thus, it is achieved that the stretcher can be adapted to the height of the patient.
[0017] Despite this, there is no solution that allows a stretcher to ergonomically and comfortably receive a patient both in decubitus and sitting positions, so that different devices are not required to perform treatments in said positions.
[0019] Therefore, the present invention aims to solve said technical problem by means of a regulating arm that allows the height of the head of the stretcher to be modified from heights close to the support elements of the patient's trunk to positions in contact with the ground, thus allowing the headrest adopts comfortable positions to allow a patient to ergonomically adopt sitting postures.
[0021] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0023] An object of the present invention relates, although not limited to, to an articulated stretcher suitable for supporting patients in the prone, supine, lateral and seated position, comprising:
[0024] a platform, intended to support the trunk and limbs of the patient, the platform defining a platform plane;
[0025] a support structure intended to rest on a surface and to support the platform;
[0026] a headboard, the headboard defining a headboard plane;
[0027] a regulating arm configured to regulate the position of the headboard, the regulating arm comprising a first point connected to the support structure or to the platform and a second point connected to the headboard;
[0028] so that the articulated stretcher is configured to be arranged in at least two positions:
[0029] a first position in which the regulating arm is arranged so that the headboard is in a first position where the plane of the headboard is at an intermediate height between the surface where the support structure rests and the plane of the platform; Y
[0030] a second position in which the regulator arm is arranged so that the headboard is located substantially coplanar to the platform.
[0032] By means of the regulating arm, the invention makes it possible to vary the position of the headboard over a wide range. Thus, the stretcher ranges from positions with the regulating arm suspended in the air, leaving the headrest in comfortable positions for the patient to support the head when said patient is in decubitus postures, to positions where the regulating arm is resting on the floor. , so that the headrest is at a height that allows a patient to sit comfortably on the headrest, allowing treatment in sitting postures. In addition, the first support element allows the neck, head and vertebrae to rest, adapting to the dimensions of each patient. In this way, a single device is obtained that allows therapeutic treatments to be performed on patients in any of the decubitus and sitting positions.
[0034] In particular embodiments, the regulating arm contains two sections at an angle with a vertex, so that in the first position of the stretcher, the vertex of the angle is intended to be supported on the surface on which the support structure rests.
[0036] The fact that the regulating arm can have a vertex allows said vertex to be supported on the ground, providing the arm and headboard assembly with great stability, expanding the range of positions of said headboard with respect to the plane of the platform.
[0038] In particular embodiments, the stretcher additionally comprises a cervical support element attached to the headrest. Said additional element allows a better accommodation of the patient's body on the stretcher. In particular embodiments, said cervical support element is adjustable in height, increasing the adaptability of the stretcher to all types of patients.
[0039] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the headboard is articulated with respect to the regulating arm, allowing this articulation to regulate the inclination of the headboard and where in addition said headboard is also adjustable along at least two directions in a plane formed by the headboard.
[0041] In this way, it is ensured that the stretcher is ergonomically adapted to any patient, regardless of their physical characteristics.
[0043] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the body support platform comprises
[0044] at least one lower support element, each intended to support each lower extremity of the patient;
[0045] at least one lumbar support element, located next to the lower support element;
[0046] a thoracic support member, located adjacent to the lumbar support member; and at least one armrest;
[0047] so that the stretcher defines a longitudinal direction in which the lower support elements meet, then the lumbar support element, then the thoracic support element, then the headrest and then, if present, the cervical support element .
[0049] These support elements allow a better accommodation of the patient's body on the stretcher of the invention.
[0051] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the following elements of the stretcher are adjustable:
[0052] the lower support elements are adjustable in inclination and adjustable along the longitudinal direction of the stretcher;
[0053] the lumbar support element is height adjustable;
[0054] the thoracic support element is adjustable in inclination;
[0055] the armrest is height adjustable.
[0057] Thanks to this configuration, the stretcher allows the patient to independently move any part of the body controlled by the main joints such as shoulders, neck, hip or spine. Thus, The comfort of a therapist during the treatment is also favored, allowing access to the areas to be treated of the patient's body in a more natural way.
[0059] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support structure comprises:
[0060] - a frame configured to provide support for the platform;
[0061] - a scissor-type mechanism configured to provide frame lift regulation;
[0062] - one or more wheels.
[0064] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the headboard comprises a breather hole.
[0066] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the stretcher further comprises one or more bananas installed on the platform.
[0068] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the stretcher further comprises one or more straps for fixing the patient to the stretcher.
[0070] DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0072] Figure 1 shows a general view of the invention in the second position, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
[0074] Figure 2 shows the stretcher arranged according to the first position, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
[0076] NUMERICAL REFERENCES USED IN THE FIGURES
[0078] In order to help a better understanding of the technical characteristics of the invention, the aforementioned Figures are accompanied by a series of numerical references where, by way of illustration and not limitation, the following is represented:
[0083] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0085] An example of a preferred embodiment of the present invention is now described, provided for illustrative but not limiting purposes thereof.
[0087] A main object of the invention relates, as described in the preceding sections, and as represented in Figures 1 to 3 herein, to an articulated stretcher. Said articulated stretcher is configured to position a patient both in lateral decubitus, prone and supine positions as well as in sitting positions in an ergonomic way, so that both the patient and a therapist can perform a therapy, such as massages or physiotherapy, comfortable and optimally.
[0089] In the preferred embodiment, as shown in Figure 1, the articulated stretcher generally comprises:
[0090] a platform 1 intended to support both the trunk and the extremities of the patient;
[0091] a support structure 2, intended on the one hand to rest on the ground, and on the other hand intended to support the platform 1;
[0092] a headboard 3, substantially prismatic in shape, located next to the area of the platform 1;
[0093] a regulator arm (hidden in this figure);
[0094] a cervical support element 5, intended to give cervical support to the patient, mainly in the sitting posture.
[0095] On the other hand, the platform 1 is segmented into different adjustable elements, so that the stretcher adapts better to the main joints and movements of the patient's body. Thus, said body support platform 1 comprises:
[0096] a pair of lower support elements 6, each intended to support each lower extremity of the patient;
[0097] a lumbar support element 7, located next to the lower support elements 6; Y
[0098] a thoracic support element 8, located next to the lumbar support element, and an armrest 9.
[0100] In this way, the stretcher defines a longitudinal direction in which the lower support elements 6 meet first, then the lumbar support element 7, then the thoracic support element 8, then the headrest 3 and then, if there is one , the cervical support element 5.
[0102] Furthermore, the support structure 2 preferably comprises:
[0103] a frame 10 that provides support for the platform 1;
[0104] a scissor-type mechanism 11 that allows the regulation of the elevation of the frame 10;
[0105] a plurality of wheels 12.
[0107] Both the scissor-type mechanism 11 and the support elements 5, 6, 7, 8 can be positioned both by manual means and by electrical means, as well as by using mechanisms based on through studs or axes adjustable by cranks.
[0109] In this case, the headrest 3 comprises a hole 31 in the center adapted to allow the patient to breathe when positioned in prone positions. Said hole can be covered by a lid in case the patient has to adopt different positions.
[0111] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, each wheel 12 of the stretcher comprises a brake mechanism. Thus, it is ensured that unforeseen displacements of the support structure 2 can occur.
[0112] Thanks to the configuration of this stretcher, and more specifically, thanks to the configuration of the regulating arm 4 together with the headrest 3 and the support structure 2, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the stretcher can adopt two positions. The regulating arm 4 is L-shaped, and is configured to adjust the height of the headboard 3, hinged at one end to the support structure 2 and attached to the headboard 3 at the other end.
[0114] Figure 2 shows a first position, which occurs when the apex of the regulating arm 4 is in a first position where the plane of the headboard 3 is at an intermediate height between the surface where the support structure 2 rests and the plane of the platform 1. In this first position, the headrest 3 is positioned at a comfortable height so that a patient can sit on said headrest 3, taking said headrest 3, therefore, as a seat function. Furthermore, the patient being in a seated position, thanks to the cervical support element 5, the invention allows the patient to rest his neck on said element, allowing the therapist to access different areas that are accessed when the patient is lying down.
[0116] In the present preferred embodiment of the invention, the headboard 3 is further articulated with respect to the regulating arm 4. Furthermore, said headboard 3 is also adjustable along at least two directions in a plane formed by the headboard 3. In this way , a headrest 3 adjustable to different patients is obtained, regardless of their physical characteristics and different postures.
[0118] A second position, shown in figure 3, is determined when the regulating arm 4 is suspended in the air so that, in this second position, the headboard 3 is at substantially the same height as the platform 1. Thus, this position is especially indicated when the patient is required to adopt supine, prone or lateral decubitus positions, with the headrest 3 acting as a headrest.
[0120] This figure 3 also shows how the support elements can adjust their relative position to favor the correct positioning of the patient. In this sense:
[0121] the cervical support element 5 is adjustable in height, adjusting to the height of the patient when said patient is in a sitting position;
[0122] the lower support elements 6 are adjustable in inclination and adjustable along the longitudinal direction of the stretcher;
[0123] the lumbar support element 7 is adjustable in height;
[0124] the thoracic support element 8 is adjustable in inclination;
[0125] the armrest 9 is height adjustable.
[0127] Thus, a stretcher is obtained that allows the patient to remain in the main positions of the decubitus postures allowed by the main joints of the body such as the shoulders, neck, hips or spine. This fact makes it possible to favor both the comfort of the therapist and that of the patient during the treatment.
[0129] In this way, it is possible to solve the problem related to providing a single articulated stretcher with extra functionalities allowing treatments to patients in both decubitus and sitting positions.
